Blown-In Attic Insulation
Loose fill that flows around joists, wiring and framing to build one continuous blanket.
Blown-In Attic Insulation
What it is, and when it is the right call
The attic floor is where most homes lose the most energy, and it is also the cheapest place to fix. Blown-in loose fill flows around joists, wiring runs, bracing and every awkward corner that batt insulation has to be cut around, which is exactly where batt installations leak.

What you get
It fills what batts cannot
A batt has to be cut to fit. Every cut is an approximation, and every approximation leaves a gap. Loose fill has no such problem: it settles into the space it is blown into, including the narrow bays along the eaves and the awkward triangles around chimneys and vents.
Depth you can verify
We install to a measured depth and leave depth rulers in the attic, so coverage is checkable rather than just claimed. You can go up and read it yourself, which is more than most installations give you.
Cost-effective per R-value
Per R-value installed, attic loose fill is usually the lowest-cost insulation upgrade available to a homeowner, and it is the one with the fastest payback in both heating and cooling climates.
Fast and clean
A typical attic is done in a few hours. The material is blown through a hose from the truck, so almost nothing is carried through your living space. We cover the route and clean up when we are done.
Air seal first
Insulation slows heat; it does not stop air. We recommend sealing the attic floor penetrations before adding depth, because loose fill laid over open top plates and recessed light housings is insulating a hole.
Where we install it
Blown-In Attic Insulation across all three metros we serve. Climate changes the specification, so the scope is not the same in Buffalo as it is in Phoenix.

Frequently asked questions
How much insulation should my attic have?
It depends on your climate zone. Around Buffalo and Rochester the target is typically R-49 to R-60. In Las Vegas and Phoenix, R-38 to R-49 is the usual range. We measure what you have and tell you the gap.
Can you add blown-in over my existing insulation?
In most cases yes, as long as the existing material is dry and not contaminated. If it is wet, moldy or rodent-damaged it needs to come out first, and we will tell you that before we quote.
Will blown-in insulation settle over time?
Some settling is normal and is accounted for in the installed depth. We install to the manufacturer coverage chart for the rated R-value, not just to a depth that looks about right.
Does it make a mess in my house?
No. The material goes through a hose from the truck into the attic. We protect the access route and clean up before we leave.
