Service Areas
Insulation Depot USA works across three metros with very different climates: Western New York, the Las Vegas Valley and the Phoenix area. 31 locations in total.
Three climates, three different jobs
An insulation scope that is right in Buffalo is wrong in Phoenix. Heating-dominated climates need depth and air sealing against winter stack effect. Cooling-dominated climates need the ceiling plane sealed against a superheated attic, and often a radiant strategy on top of it. We work to the climate zone, not to a national template.
New York
Western New York
Heating season here runs long, and lake effect off Erie and Ontario adds snow load and wind that inland markets never deal with. The result is a specific set of symptoms: ice dams along the eaves, frost on the underside of the roof deck, a cold draft falling down the stairwell, and a furnace that runs almost continuously through January without the upstairs ever feeling right. Those are air leakage symptoms far more often than they are furnace symptoms.
What we target here
Climate Zone 5A and 6A. Typical attic target: R-49 to R-60 in the attic.
A large share of the housing stock here predates 1940, which means balloon framing, wall cavities that are open from the sill to the attic, and in many cases no wall insulation at all. Injection foam was made for these walls: it fills the cavity without touching your plaster or your siding.

Las Vegas Valley
Attic temperatures in the valley routinely pass 150F on a summer afternoon. Every gap in the ceiling plane is a path for that air to enter the house, and in most valley homes the air conditioning ductwork runs through that same superheated attic. The symptoms are familiar: an upstairs that never catches up, a system that runs from noon until well after dark, and a July bill that bears no relation to the thermostat setting.
What we target here
Climate Zone 3B, hot and dry. Typical attic target: R-38 to R-49 in the attic.
Most valley housing went up between the late 1980s and the mid 2000s: stucco over frame, tile or shingle roofs, and attics that were insulated to the code minimum of the day and never touched again. Twenty years of settling later, the installed depth is well below what the label said.

Phoenix Metro
Phoenix has one of the longest and most punishing cooling seasons in the country. The attic becomes an oven by mid morning and stays there past midnight, so the ceiling radiates heat into the rooms below long after sunset. An air conditioner that seems undersized is very often a correctly sized unit fighting an attic nobody sealed.
What we target here
Climate Zone 2B, hot and dry. Typical attic target: R-38 to R-49 in the attic.
Central Phoenix carries a lot of 1950s and 1960s block construction with minimal attic depth, while the suburbs are largely 1990s and 2000s tract homes built to the code minimum of their year. Both benefit from the same two measures: seal the ceiling plane, then build the depth back up.
